Great & Easy Recipe

Mom's Pineapple Bars
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs
8-10 ounces crushed pineapple
1 & 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
powdered sugar to sprinkle over top.

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add other ingredients and fold in, Spread into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes, Sprinkle powdered sugar over top, cool and cut into squares.

FYI
I didn't use nuts, it was quick and tasty. It says it you don't have crushed pineapple, blend chunk pineapple with a little juice in blender. I'm not the mom the pineapple bars are named after. I got the recipe out of the newspaper.

Touch of Warm Weather

I love our back patio. It's so nice and cozey. Last year we extended the patio cover and it made all the difference in the world.

We changed the arrangement of the patio this year, and put the table closest to the kitchen door, I think it's going to work out better and seems more comfortable.

I know I know too many ATV pictures. But I wish you could see these rocks in the background. It isn't a very good pictures, but it is made up of thousands of individual rocks.

Just notice not just the view out there but how blue the sky is in Idaho.

Pictures of us

Les is usually taking the pictures, so I thought I would get one of him. This was the other day, we tried to find the old cabin we found last time on the Silver City trail, but of course, we didn't find it, but found a beautiful area, you can't see the pretty rock formations from this view.
This is me on the back patio, on the one good day we have had so far this year. We have a nice patio I wish it was warm enough to enjoy it.
Les relaxing after a tough day of yard work on the only good day. The next day we had to cover our plants because of a freeze and snow flurries. Do I sound bitter about the weather? Did you notice Salsa gets in a lot of pictures?
Your never too old to have a little fun.

This was a challenge from the elders to the high priests and youth. Most of our youth are young and small, so Les called up a couple of ringers from the high school team. This isn't the best picture of Les, but the ball is strategically placed to cover where the shirt fits a little tighter than a few years back. Oh Yeah, youth and high priest just barely won.

Things We Like About Idaho

Friday was a beautiful day, so after Les got off work we went ATVing with friends. On the way back we got off on a different trail and decided to back track to the original trail. Shortly after we got on the right trail we met a biker whose motercycle had broken down, he was about 15 miles from anywhere. Between everyone they found enough tools to get his bike running. We could have made it back on the trail we were on, but had we not backtracked and got back on the original trail, we would not have seen the biker and been able to help him. It was Les's idea to go back to the original trail so it pays to follow your instincts.
This is Poncho and Hodie, they belong to friends in the neighborhood, and enjoy our visits. We feed them when the Overman's are out of town.
You can't get much cuter than this. We got to see this colt the day she was born. There are new colts, calves and lambs everywhere this time of year.
Yes, we finally have a sunny day and Salsa is truly enjoying sunning herself. Life is good!
